As the owner of Pine and Palm Accounting, I bring over 8 years of experience as a professional accountant, specializing in bookkeeping services, fractional CFO support, and corporate accounting services. Having worked with large companies and managed full accounting teams, my expertise spans the entire accounting cycle, inventory management, fixed assets, sales and use tax filing, and more. My goal is to ensure your business’s financial health is in capable hands, so you can focus on what matters most.
My faith shapes who I am and how I interact with others. I approach everything I do through the lens of adding value to each person I serve. More than just numbers, my work is rooted in the understanding that each individual is deeply loved by Jesus. I am committed to ensuring every client not only experiences financial clarity but also feels valued and cared for.
I hail from the beautiful surf town of Huntington Beach, California, and have had the privilege of living in four states and two countries. Each new place has shaped my journey, broadening my perspective and deepening my understanding of diverse cultures and experiences. Now based in Fort Collins, Colorado, these adventures continue to influence both my personal and professional growth.
I've been happily married for nearly 5 and a half years, and I'm the proud father of a delightful one-year-old named Eli. Alongside Eli, our household is made even more lively by our two spirited corgis, Remy and Otto.
As an Eagle Scout, I've always embraced challenges with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. This adventurous spirit led me to work as a furniture mover for three years, a role that instilled in me the importance of hard work, teamwork, and a touch of humor—when moving things around is your job.
In my leisure time, you can find me participating in local leagues in Fort Collins, playing basketball, soccer, and softball. I also have a passion for hiking and enjoy exploring both the beach and the mountains. There’s nothing quite like spending time outdoors and appreciating the beauty of nature.
I studied and earned my B.S. in Accounting from California Baptist University, where I developed a solid foundation in financial principles and accounting practices.
Professionally, I've gained extensive experience in various fields, including tax, bookkeeping services, nonprofit accounting, and accounting in manufacturing and consumer packaged goods (CPG). This diverse background has equipped me with a broad skill set and a deep understanding of different industries.
I am QuickBooks Online (QBO) Certified, which allows me to efficiently manage financial records and streamline bookkeeping services. Additionally, I have mastered Excel, utilizing pivot tables, queries, and SQL coding to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
Throughout my career, I have held several key positions, including Senior Staff Accountant, Financial Analyst, and Vice President of Accounting and Finance. These roles have honed my expertise and leadership skills, enabling me to provide strategic financial guidance and fractional CFO support.
A palm tree is a familiar sight in Southern California, where Josh grew up. He had a small palm tree in his yard and would often see rows of them lining the beaches in Huntington. Later, his honeymoon took him to Saint Thomas, and he even spent several months living in Costa Rica. These unforgettable vacations, along with his continued connection to the beach, have allowed him to remain surrounded by the beauty of coastal landscapes.
The pine tree has played a significant role in many aspects of Josh's life. He spent his childhood camping in the pine forests of California while working toward his Eagle Scout, visited Durango, Colorado, and later settled in Fort Collins, Colorado. These adventures and life experiences have cultivated a deep and enduring love for the outdoors—whether it's camping, hiking, mountain biking, or simply enjoying nature.
By combining these experiences (in Pine and Palm), we see the places and adventures that have shaped Josh into the person he is today. Having lived in various locations and explored diverse climates, he has developed a strong sense of adventure, meticulous organization, and an innate preparedness. These qualities, paired with a relentless passion for learning and growth, have been the driving forces behind the creation of Pine and Palm Accounting.
